Illustration of local generation and privacy

Why NameInstantly generates names locally

Naming usually happens in a creative moment: you want a batch now, not a signup wall and a waiting spinner. NameInstantly runs generation in the browser so the page is ready when you are.

Local generation is also about privacy. Names can be personal—character lore, baby shortlists, team codenames. We do not send that to a server. Saved names stay on your device (clear or export anytime).

The approach is straightforward: curated pools by locale and style, combined by rules. Quality comes from the pools and filters (Chinese surname type and given-name length, English gender, and so on). We will keep expanding data—not turning every click into a cloud round-trip.

If a category feels thin or you want another language, tell us on the feedback page. Local tools still need real user signal.
