Chinese naming notes: single, double, compound

In everyday modern Chinese names, two-character given names are more common; single-character names feel sharper and lean harder on the character itself. Switch given-name length to compare both densities quickly.

Compound surnames (Ouyang, Sima, Shangguan) are less common in real life, but they punch above their weight in fantasy and web-novel casting. Set surname type to compound, then pair with literary or neutral-leaning characters for usable character names.
